Fight Boko Haram’s Ideology With $1bn, Omokri Advises FG

Social commentator Reno Omokri has advised the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari to spend $1 billion to fight the ideology of Boko Haram.

Buhari on Wednesday approved the release of $1 billion for the procurement of security equipment to fight insurgency.

This was made known to State House correspondents by the Minister of Defence, Mansur Dan-Ali, at the end of a meeting Buhari had with security chiefs at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Reacting in a post on his Twitter page on Friday, the US based pastor advised that the money should be spent on building schools and hospital and not Boko haram’s fighters.

Omokri wrote: “To defeat Boko Haram, spend the $1 billion to fight their ideology, not their fighters.

“You haven’t built a single school or hospital in 3 years, yet your own children go to school and get treated abroad.

“That is why they believe Boko is Haram. Invest in development, not weapons.”
