Former Adamawa Gov. Set To Dump APC For PDP

James Barka

Former Acting Governor of Adamawa State, James Barka, has announced his intentions to dump the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Barka, who is also a member of the Presidential Committee on North East Initiative (PCNI), said this on Friday when he received Tahir Shehu, the Adamawa State PDP Chairman, and other leaders at his residence in Yola.

He said he could no longer remain in the party as a result of the governor, Mohammed Jibrilla’s “inconsistent and deceptive attitude”.

According to him, Jibrilla’s administration runs contrary to political tenets and the governor has never been a man of his words but only succeeds in deceiving the electorates.

“APC has failed Nigerians in a number of ways.

“We left the PDP back then in 2014 because of impunity, but surprisingly, APC has become worse off when it comes to impunity,” he said.

On taming the tide of insecurity, he scored the Muhammadu Buhari-led government low, saying the APC performance has been “abysmal”.
