Ondo PDP Faction Rules Out Reconciliation With Sheriff

Leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State have pitched their tent with Senator Ahmed Makarfi’s faction of the party.

They consequently ruled out the possibility of working with the Ali-Modu Sheriff’s faction in a decision taken at a stakeholders’ meeting held in Akure.

PDP South West Vice Chairman, Dr Eddy Olafeso alongside Chief Bode George and others at the meeting also berated Bayelsa Governor, Seriake Dickson, for submitting convention’s report to Sheriff.

According to them, “The action should be condemned as it has shown that the governor was a mole in the ranks of PDP governors’ forum.

Other leaders present at the stakeholders meeting include the governorship candidate of the party in the last governorship election in the state,  Eyitayo Jegede SAN, Prof Olu Agbi, Chief Segun Adegoke, and a former governorship aspirant of the party in the state, Saka Lawal.

Sheriff not ready for Reconciliation

A communique issued at the meeting said there cannot be meeting point with Sheriff as he has shown himself as not ready for any reconciliation with the mainstream of the party.

The leaders insisted that if the party goes to the congress with Sheriff and the outcome was not palatable to him, he would invoke the judgment of the Court of Appeal and scuttle the outcome of the convention.

The communiqué read by Dr Olafeso, and signed by the party chairman and secretary, Chief Clement Faboyede and Oyedele Ibini, also agreed to set up an Elders Caucus to see to the smooth running of the activities of the party and resolve all the lingering crisis within the party.
