Proscription Of IPOB Saved Lives In Southeast – Ohanaeze

Ohaneze President, John Nwodo

Igbo socio-political group, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has said the proscription of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) by Southeast governors saved a lot of lives and doused tension in the region.

President-General of the organisation, John Nwodo, said people, especially youths, misunderstood the action of the governors in proscribing the activities of the group.

Speaking in Umuahia, Nwodo noted that the governors took the action “out of a genuine desire to safeguard the lives of young people.”

Nwodo, who noted that people of the area are not happy with their position in Nigeria, maintained that agitation for the restoration of Biafra was not in the interest of the Igbo.

He advised the agitators to forget Biafra agitations and insist on restructuring.
