Zambia’s coach Wedson Nyirenda believes the Chipolopolo can beat Nigeria and go on to qualify for their maiden FIFA World Cup finals.

Both countries will kick off their final round of qualifying race for Russia 2018 on Sunday at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.

And the Zambian coach is not playing down his side’s chances ahead of the encounter, stating that they have what it takes to qualify.

“We just have to qualify. I have always said even if we are building the team, we have to qualify for the World Cup for the first time.”

The Zambian gaffer will be relying on foreign-based players like Rodger Kola, Chisamba Lungu among others to take the 2012 African champions to the Mundial.

“The arrival of professionals has boosted morale in the team, we are looking good with the brotherliness I am seeing in the team. We are going to maintain Rainford Kalaba as captain,” Nyirenda added.

Nyirenda said he was happy to have convinced Russia-based Ural FC captain, Lungu, to return to the fold.

Egyptian referee Ghead Grisha will officiate the Group B qualifying game assisted by countrymen Tahssen Abo El Sadat Bedyer, Ahmed Hossameldin Taha and Ibrahim Noureldin.

Former Ghana Football Association president Mahamadu, Nuru Deen Jawula, will be the match commissioner.
