Rivers Rerun: 22 Yr Old Gang Member Arrested With Beheaded Police Officer’s Phone

A 22yr old gang member, Christian Chukwuemela Ekikeme, was arrested on Saturday with the phone of the deputy superintendent of police, DSP Mohammed Alkali, that was beheaded on Saturday 10 Dec during the rivers rerun election.
The gang member was arrested by the police around 6pm on Saturday, 17th Dec. with the help of the Technical Intelligent Unit (TIU) of the police force.
Sahara Reporters claim that police sources disclosed to them that Ekikeme, also known as Prince Okoroma, an indigene of Okposi village, near Omoku, was arrested by the operatives of the Inspector-General of Police Response Team (IRT) in Omoku, when he came out from the creek to visit his girlfriend.

The culprit was alleged to have confessed to the act, saying that the beheaded the police boss and his driver, Sgt Peter Uchi, were killed and their remains dumped in the river because they felt they were working against their party.
The culprit also confessed that his nine-member gang have seven AK-47 rifles, and two pump action guns in their custody.
He listed other gang members as John Ahiaikwo, Chukwuemeka AKA Jungle Justice, Izu, Okechukwu, Ngozi, Bright (the gang leader) and Kachi Nwokocha (the gang sponsor).
A source told Sahara reporters that the police were later led deep into the Uju forest where the police discover a shallow grave containing Sgt Uchi’s remains and the police white pickup van.

In a late development, the police force said that it has arrested four of the gang members and that efforts are on to arrest the remaining gang members. The force said that it will stop at nothing to prosecute the offenders.
