Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has promised that work will commence on the Sango Ota-Joju Abeokuta Road.
This was after he paid a visit to the road which had generated displeasure from social media users after pictures surfaced showing commuters walking through flood.
Sharing a picture from his visit, Abiodun stated that even though the road is a Federal Government road, he has directed measures to bring succour to people who use it.
He said, “Palliative roadworks that will begin tomorrow, Monday on Sango Ota-Joju-Abeokuta Road will bring relief to multiple road users daily transversing this route.
“The Ogun State Government understands that the present condition of the road is inconducive to use, which is why I have directed that even though it is a Federal Government-owned road, measures be immediately put in place so that it can bring succour to residents and other users.
“These measures, which are like what we are doing on Sango Ota-Idiroko Road, will suffice while the contractor in charge of full reconstruction completes their work.”
