Why I Decided Not To Talk To Buhari About His Health Status – Media Aide

Femi Adesina, senior special adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, has revealed that he has not had a direct conversation with the President regarding his health.
Adesina made this known on Wednesday during an interview on Channels Television.
He said he has no need to bring up the discussion about his health as he has enough proof from sources who believes are reliable. The decision, he said, is personal.
He pointed to authentications provided by the acting president, the Senate president and tthe speaker of the House of Representatives as proof enough of the President’s good health.
“So, I do not need to authenticate the status of the health of Mr. President by speaking to him.”
When asked about a possible return date for the president, the media aide said only the president can give answer to that as no one else knows.
He said: “We do not know when the president will be back. But when he is coming, he will communicate,”
“President Buhari is an honest man who does not want anything to be coloured on his behalf.
“It is a matter of my personal decision and style (that I don’t talk directly to the president).
“All those I spoke with, his personal physician, his CD (chief detail), his domestic aide, I can tell them to take the phone to Mr President that I want to speak to him.
“But I’ve decided not to talk to him because I do not need that telephone conversation to authenticate the health of Mr. President.
Asked to explain Buhari’s current health status, Adesina responded that it is not as dire as people are painting it to be.
“In his own communication, he (the president) says no cause for worry.”
