Why Fayemi Was Absent When South-West Govs Visited Tinubu -Akeredolu

Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State has revealed why his Ekiti State counterpart, Kayode Fayemi, didn’t join South-West governors when they paid a visit to APC Chieftain, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu in Lagos on Tuesday.

Akeredolu who is the Chairman South-West Governors’ forum had led his counterparts on the visit to the former governor of Lagos State who recently returned from a medical trip to the UK.

After the visit, he described Tinubu as the leader of the South-West whom all the governors were proud of and believed in.

Explaining the reason for Fayemi’s absence, Akeredolu stated that the Ekiti governor ad to catch a quick flight to Port Harcourt where he was billed to attend a meeting of the Nigeria Bar Association.

His Chief Press Secretary, Richard OOlatunde, disclosed this in a statement titled ‘Why Fayemi Was Absent During Our Visit To Asiwaju Tinubu’s Residence – Akeredolu’.

“Governor Fayemi was with us at the Southwest Governors’ Forum meeting held earlier at the Lagos House in Marina. He had to leave to catch a late flight to Portharcourt where he was billed to attend the NBA Conference dinner.

“He sent his apology to Asiwaju as well as his good wishes. The rest of us who visited Asiwaju’s residence tendered the same and extended Fayemi’s good wishes,” the statement quoted the Governor as saying.
