Viral Video: Police to Discipline Cop Firing Shots at Ladipo Market

The Lagos State Police Command has said the police officer, Inspector Istifanus Kwanchi, seen shooting an AK-47 rifle at Ladipo Market has been brought in for disciplinary action.

The officer was caught firing shots into the air while trader were celebrating the reopening of the Ladipo Market which had been shut down by the Lagos state Government for poor hygiene.

According to a terse statement issued by the Spokesman for the command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the officer serves with the Mobile Police (MOPOL).

Hundeyin shared on X, “@LagosPoliceNG condemns in its entirety all forms of unprofessional and unethical behaviour on the part of its officers and men; and will definitely bring to book anyone found culpable.

“The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Idowu Owohunwa, has ordered the immediate commencement of disciplinary proceedings against the officer for his unprofessional, unethical and dangerous behavior.”
