Sergio Ramos has said despite his love for Real Madrid which he once captained, he would die for his new side Paris St-Germain when both clubs clash in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16.
Ramos joined PSG from Madrid last summer but has seen his time in Paris plagued by injuries.
Reacting to the Champions League tie against his old club, the Spaniard didn’t fail to show off his allegiance to PSG.
“Fate is capricious. I would have liked another team to have played us,” Ramos was quoted by Marca as saying.
“You know the affection and love I have for Real Madrid.
“Now it’s my turn to defend PSG and I’ll do everything possible to do it. It’s the team that bet on me. I’m going to die for PSG.”
He added, “I would have liked not to have that confrontation [with Real Madrid], but returning to the Santiago Bernabeu is cause for joy [because] I could not have a real farewell because of Covid restrictions.”
