Tourism Conference Attracts Participants From 30 Countries

Thirty countries will take part in the second edition of the Nigeria Hotel and Tourism Investment Conference (NHTIC).

The conference is scheduled for November 23 to 24 in Lagos.

Expect participants from the United Kingdom, United States, France, and China. That is according to the founder and organiser Brian Efa. He noted that there would also be participants from Canada, Spain, Kenya, Ghana, Uganda, and Morocco.

Efa added that top tourism and hospitality professionals, leaders from the public and private sectors will converge on Lagos. Others are 16 industries’ related experts and 150 attendees.

The theme for the conference is “Tourism And Hospitality In Nigeria, Understanding The Challenges, Taking The Opportunities’’

To support government in tourism

The organiser said that the initiative was to support the Federal Government’s tourism agenda as a viable sector and an alternative source of revenue from the oil sector.

“The foreign participants are expected to spend their own currencies in the country while the conference lasted.

“These will translate to an increase in our foreign exchange earnings and boost patronage of the hospitality business in the country,’’ he said.
