Toddler Undergoes First Surgery On Penis Chopped Off By Step Mom [Photos]

A nine-month-old boy Buhari Muhammad, whose penis was cutoff by his jealous step-mother in June, has finally undergone first surgery.
Muhammad who was operated at the Federal Medical Center (FMC), Bida Niger, has been confirmed by the Director-General of the state Child Rights Protection Agency, Mariam Kolo, to be responding to treatment.
According to NAN, Kolo said that the toddler was operated by four neurologists, and that was just the first among other treatments to be taken.
“Several other tests will still be conducted to prepare him for the next operation,” Kolo said.
Meanwhile, NAN recollects that Muhammad’s genital was cut off by his 17-year-old step mother, Bara’atau Muhammad, when he was barely a month old out of jealousy in June, 2016.
Angry Step Mother Removes Toddler’s Penis
The step-mother who had confessed that she took the action because she was jealousy in Dafe community in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger, also said that she wanted to get back at the victim’s mother, whom, she claimed was always insulting her.
However, the teenager was immediately remanded at the Minna Prison.
The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bala Elkana, told NAN that the suspect was still in Minna Prison, pending the conclusion of investigations.
“Under the Police Criminal Law, the suspect is an adult, she is above seven years; therefore, she can be convicted and hanged for the offence,” Elkana said.
