Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, has slammed pastors who prophesied against the emergence of President Bola Tinubu.
In a tweet, on Monday, after Tinubu was sworn-in as President, Omokri stated that such pastors ought to retrace their steps to God.
According to him, their prophecies which failed to come to pass have placed doubts in the minds of many Christians.
Omokri said this with a photo of the third-placed candidate in the February 25 election won by Tinubu, Peter Obi, and the Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Paul Enenche.
Concise News recalls that before the election, Enenche had shared a photo he took with Obi. The photo showed the megachurch pastor pointing at Obi while he gave the post on Twitter a caption indicating that Obi was whom people should follow.
Tweeting on Monday, Omokri said, “The swearing-in of Bola Tinubu today proves that many Nigerian pastors of the Christian faith have to go on a retreat to retune and return themselves to God and question who spoke and speaks to them.
“Many of them behaved so irresponsibly and have, by their actions, undermined the faith of an untold number of Christians.
“They have also given impetus to the idea that perhaps religious organisations should lose their tax-exempt status the minute they dabble into partisan politics. Once that happens, you stop being a pastor or an imam and become a politician.”
