Tinubu Hails FG For Lifting Twitter Ban

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has welcomed the lifting of the ban placed on Twitter by the Federal Government.

The ban was placed seven months ago after the social media platform deleted some tweets by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Commending the FG, Tinubu, in a series of tweets, however, said social media can be misused.

“Social Media -indeed all media- including Twitter are means for all of us to communicate, report, share and engage with stories and each other; to enable economic and social empowerment of Nigerians. But they can sometimes be misused.

“I commend the FG for recognising these aspects and most importantly, concluding negotiations for the safe return of access to Twitter to the millions of Nigerians who use it. Welcome back one and all,” he tweeted.
