Tinubu Deploys Linda Akhigbe to Serve in ECOWAS

President Bola Tinubu has deployed on secondment Nigerian television broadcaster and presidential aide, Mrs. Linda Akhigbe, as the Communications Adviser to the President of the ECOWAS Commission.

The secondment, which is for a renewable term of three months, takes immediate effect.

This was disclosed in a statement issued by ECOWAS on Tuesday.

Akhigbe is a broadcast veteran with 18 years of experience in the media industry, with most of that experience gathered at Nigeria’s award-winning television news.network, Channels Television, where she has worked since 2008.

She has recently been appointed by H.E. President Bala Ahmed Tinubu of Nigeria to serve her country as the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Strategic Communications. She is being seconded to the ECOWAS Commission to serve the West African sub-region.

Akhigbe was educated at the University of Leicester, United Kingdom, where she graduated with a Master’s degree in Media, Communications, and Public Relations, following her studies in Mass Communication at the Federal Polytechnic, Auchi, in Edo State, Nigeria.

“The President of ECOWAS Commission expresses gratitude to H.E. President Tinubu for the secondment and wishes Mrs. Linda Nwabuwa Akhigbe success in her new role,” the statement read in part.
