Timi Frank Hails US Visa Ban On Politicians Involved In Electoral Malpractices

Timi Frank, a former National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has expressed his appreciation for the United States government’s decision to impose visa bans on individuals who undermined democracy during Nigeria’s 2023 general elections.
Frank commended this development, stating that it brought joy to ordinary Nigerians whose rights and destiny were at the mercy of unscrupulous politicians.
Frank’s remarks came in response to the announcement made by US Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken, on Monday, that the United States would be imposing visa restrictions on individuals who were involved in undermining democratic processes and perpetrating violence during Nigeria’s most recent elections.
Blinken said, “Today, I am announcing that we have taken steps to impose visa restrictions on specific individuals in Nigeria for undermining the democratic process during Nigeria’s 2023 elections cycle.”
Reacting, Frank said: “The decision of the US has once again given us hope, that the era of brazenly undermining the process of a democratic exercise will have dire consequences
“It is indeed a wake up call for all other political actors who have mastered the art of sabotaging and scuttling democratic electioneering processes for personal gains.
“The US has proven once again that it indeed has the interest of the Nigerian people in ensuring that democracy thrives unhindered to the benefit of the people.”
