Magu’s Rejection A National Disgrace – Ezekwesili
By Oladapo Okeowo
Nigeria’s former Minister of Education, Obiageli Ezekwesili, has described Senate’s rejection of Ibrahim Magu as substantive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) as a national disgrace.
The former minister took to Twitter to give her take on the whole issue.
According to her, the Senate rejection undermines the anti-corruption stance of the Buhari-led administration.
Between Presidency of @MBuhari & the @NGRSenate of @bukolasaraki whatever game is being played with @officialEFCC is a NATIONAL DISGRACE.

“A Govt that campaigned on Anti-Corruption is making a MOCKERY of its war. PITIFUL.@MBuhari @NGRSenate@bukolasaraki @officialEFCC.”
Magu had earlier been rejected by the Senate after the legislative body received a damning report from the Department of State Services (DSS) concerning the acting EFCC chairman.
He was, however, re-nominated by President Muhammadu Buhari before he left the country for his leave on 19 January.
But Ezekwesili expressed surprise over Magu’s re-nomination, following the DSS report.
