British Police Probe Death Of Russian In London

Police in the United Kingdom on Friday launched a murder investigation following the death of Russian businessman Nikolai Glushkov in south-west London.

It was gathered that Glushkov was found dead at his home in the New Malden area of London on 12 March.

He was said to have died from “compression to the neck”.

According to police, there is no evidence, at this stage, linking the death to the incidents in Salisbury.

Meanwhile, detectives, it was learned, are retaining an open mind and are appealing for any information that will assist the investigation.

It is understood that Glushkov is the former deputy director of Russian state airline Aeroflot.

Further information shows that he was jailed in 1999 for five years after being charged with money laundering and fraud.
