There’s A Conspiracy To Silence Me, Trump Reacts To Twitter Ban

US President Donald Trump has said that there is a conspiracy to silence him following social media network Twitter banning his handle.

Trump’s account was banned on grounds that he could incite another violence like the one witnessed at the US Capitol building on Wednesday.

“After a close review of recent Tweets from the @realDonaldTrump account,” Twitter said in a blog post explaining its decision, “we have permanently suspended the account due to the risk of further incitement of violence.”

Shortly after the ban was temporarily lifted on Thursday, Trump tweeted that his supporter will not be disrespected, adding that he will not attend the inauguration of President-elect Joe Biden.

“These two Tweets must be read in the context of broader events in the country and the ways in which the President’s statements can be mobilized by different audiences, including to incite violence, as well as in the context of the pattern of behavior from this account in recent weeks,” Twitter said.

The President has now issued a statement on Twitter but through an account that supports him.

Trump said, “Twitter has gone further and further in banning free speech, and tonight, Twitter employees have coordinated with the Democrats and the Radical Left in removing my account from their platform, to silence me…Twitter may be a private company, but without the government’s gift of Section 230 they would not exist for long.”

Moments after Donald Trump’s statement, Twitter Inc banned suspended the Team Trump account.
