Surulere Residents Benefit from Free Dental Care Services

Over 200 residents of Surulere received free dental care services provided by Randle General Hospital, Surulere, in commemoration of World Oral Health Day 2024. The event, held at Akerele Primary Health Centre in the Local Government, aimed to promote the importance of oral hygiene in overall health and well-being.

Under the theme “A Happy Mouth is… A Happy Body,” the collaborative effort between the hospital’s Dental Department and Surulere Local Government highlighted the significance of maintaining good oral health habits. Dr. Olumide Sojinrin, the Medical Director/CEO, emphasized that oral health is not just about aesthetics but also plays a vital role in preventing systemic diseases such as cardiovascular issues and diabetes.

Dr. Sojinrin underscored the importance of regular brushing, flossing, and dental check-ups in reducing the risk of oral and systemic diseases. He emphasized that promoting oral hygiene is crucial for enhancing overall health and quality of life.

Dr. Lateefat Omolara Agbaje, Head of the Dental Centre at Randle General Hospital, expressed gratitude to the Chairman of Surulere LG, Hon. Bamidele Suleiman Yusuf, for his support and collaboration. She also thanked the State Government for its assistance and urged Lagosians to prioritize oral hygiene for a healthier and happier life.

The event aimed to raise awareness about the importance of oral health and encourage individuals to adopt preventive oral care practices. By emphasizing the link between oral health and overall wellness, organizers hope to inspire communities to prioritize their oral health for a better quality of life.
