The Ondo State Football Agency (ODSFA) has signed partnership deals with some foreign companies and clubs.

The agency’s Chairman Dapo Ajibade told newsmen in Akure that the agreements are aimed at developing football in the state.

He said that all football clubs under the agency would benefit from the partnerships.

Ajibade said the agency had signed an agreement with Euro World Sports Ltd in England for Sunshine Stars. Another side, Jargodina of Serbia, requested for nine players from clubs from the state.

“FC Minsk of Belarus has also signed a deal that involved Sunshine Queens, for transfer of players.

“We received an offer of partnership from Zamalek FC of Egypt. Chief scout of Al-Ahly FC and Zamalek FC, both of Egypt, are coming to Nigeria to scout for players,’’ he said.

Meanwhile, Ajibade revealed that the ODSFA had put in place activities to mark the 21st anniversary of Sunshine Stars.

“Sunshine Stars is the biggest industry in Ondo State. The club has raised over N100 million through football for the state.

“We will go to the mosque today (Friday), then hold a church service on Sunday, while old and new Sunshine Stars players will play against each other on Monday,’’  he said.

The chairman of the agency also confirmed the departure Solomon Ogbeide, who left the club at the end of last season.

“In the contract he signed with the club, it was agreed that if he did not qualify us for the continent championship, he will resign, which he has done.

“He left because part of our agreement was not achieved in the last league season.

“He was not sacked, he is still a friend of the house. What happened was that his contract was not renewed,’’ he added.
