Shettima Inaugurates Hajj Airlift from Birnin Kebbi

Vice-President Kashim Shettima presided over the inauguration of the airlift of Nigerian pilgrims to Saudi Arabia for the 2024 Hajj at the Sir Muhammadu Bello International Airport in Birnin Kebbi. This milestone event marked a significant departure as Kebbi State hosted the inaugural flight, a testament to the diligent efforts spearheaded by Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu.

Emphasizing the spiritual importance of the Hajj pilgrimage, Shettima urged the 65,000 pilgrims in attendance to offer prayers for Nigeria and its leadership during their sacred journey.

Governor Nasir Idris outlined the meticulous preparations undertaken by the state, including a notable subsidy of N1 million for each of the 3,000 state pilgrims. He also directed political appointees and local governments to extend their support to the pilgrims, ensuring a smooth and enriching experience.

The Sultan of Sokoto, Saad Abubakar, commended the efforts of Shettima and Governor Idris in facilitating this momentous occasion, underscoring the collaborative spirit essential for such endeavors.

Arabi, Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), expressed gratitude to the federal government for its unwavering support and reassured pilgrims of the commission’s commitment to providing top-notch services throughout their journey.
