The Deputy Governor of Edo State, Philip Shaibu has said there is no rift between him and his boss, Governor Godwin Obaseki.
Shaibu said this on Channels Television amid reports that he’s plotting on dumping the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state.
The reports had claimed that he had perfected plans to dump the PDP, a decision they say he took due to not being happy with Obaseki.
However, Shaibu told Channels Television: “I am happy with my governor; I don’t have any problem with my governor.
“So, the issue of not being happy with my governor is not there. I remain absolutely loyal to my governor.”
Shaibu, however, admitted that there were some issues within the PDP in Edo State.
He said: “There are issues we need to resolve over PDP.”
