Ronaldo Slammed For Leaving Old Trafford

Former Liverpool star, Danny Murphy, and former Manchester City winger, Trevor Sinclair, have both slammed Cristiano Ronaldo for leaving Old Trafford.

Ronaldo had recently made his intention to leave Manchester United for a club with Champions League action.

This he made clear when the club played a pre-season friendly against Rayo Vallecano at Old trafford.

Ronaldo who featured in the game was substituted after 45 minutes, after which he left the stadium and the club.

Reacting, Murphy told talkSPORT, “It doesn’t look good.

“I don’t think whatever your grievances are or however big a name you are you should not do that. I think it gives a horrible message and it has to be dealt with.”

Murphy believes that the football icon should not be risking causing controversy and creating bad precedents for others in the dressing room.

“You can’t have a player doing that, it sets a horrendous example,” he maintained.

On his part, Sinclair told talkSport, “Can you imagine a player doing this to Pep Guardiola or Jurgen Klopp? Antonio Conte, Thomas Tuchel… we saw how he handled the Romelu Lukaku situation, he wasn’t having any of his shenanigans.

“Even Mikel Arteta, a young manager, told Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, his star player, ‘You’re not playing, I’ll get you out of here as soon as I can’.”
