Vehicular and human traffic along Abeokuta-Lagos Expressway has been paralysed as the entire Sango-Ota axis in Ado Ota local Government Area of Ogun is now engulfed in protest.
Rioting youths and rice sellers in Sango-Ota market are said to have blocked both sides of the road at Ota, just before the bridge.
According to unconfirmed reports, these youths and traders are said to bé protesting over what they called ‘invasion’ of the market by men of the Nigeria Customs Service.
They claimed that the Customs men went to some stalls early Wednesday morning, forced them opened and evacuated bags of rice, and took them away in their vehicles.
Motorists and commuters were stranded, as some of them made frantic efforts to seek alternative routes. Some were trekking.
