Members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the Senate, have called on Senate President Bukola Saraki to dismiss Sen. Andy Uba(Anambra/Anambra-South) from the Senate.
Sen. Andy Uba, on Tuesday, officially defected to the All Progressives’ Party (APC).
Senate Minority Leader, Godswill Akpabio, asked the Senate President to declare his seat vacant after he read a letter conveying Uba’s the decision on the floor of the senate.
Akpabio also asked Saraki to remove the senator as chairman of the Senate committee on public accounts.
However, Senate President Bukola Saraki, did not grant any of his requests.
The Senate Minority Leader who made the same demands when three senators from the PDP defected to the APC recently, has seen his party seat reduce to 42, while APC still holds the majority in the senate.
