Rashford Leaving Ronaldo’s Shadows – Neville

Manchester United legend, Gary Neville, has said the club’s forward, Marcus Rashford, is beginning to step out of Cristiano Ronaldo’s shadows.

Rashford netted a fine header from a cross delivered by Christian Eriksen when United welcomed West Ham at home on Sunday.

Hailing the England international, Neville recalled how he used to be scared of responsibility before now.

He’s doing so much good off the pitch,” Neville said on Sky Sports.

He said, “There were times last year where he’d get in that position and he was hesitant and he’d pass it back and take the easy option.

“There were also moments last year, when [Cristiano] Ronaldo was available, he’d pass it to him like he was subservient to him. I feel now he’s willing to take [responsibility] and then play him in when he needs to.”
