Nigeria’s Aruna Quadri maintained his 25th place in the October International Table Tennis Federation ranking for male players.

Quadri’s current status came as a surprise following a first round exit at the ITTF World Cup in Germany and the recent defeat to Egypt’s Omar Assar at the ITTF Africa Senior Championships in Morocco.

The highest ranked African added four points to his previous 2441 in the latest ranking.

Toriola moves up

Meanwhile, seven-time Olympian Segun Toriola climbed from 109 to 101, while Bode Abiodun improved fro 183 to 175.

Others include Olajide Omotayo, Azeez Jamiu and Nurudeen Hassan who have now made entry into the ITTF world ranking.

In the women’s category, current African champion Olufunke Oshonaike rose from 256 to 206 in the world.
