ITTF Awards: Quadri’s Nomination Well Deserved, Says Coach

National Coach of the Nigeria Table Tennis Federation Nosiru Bello has described Aruna Quadri’s nomination for the 2016 International Table Tennis Federation Star Awards as commendable.
The highest-ranked African player earned his second nomination for the fourth edition of the awards, which holds on 8 December in Doha, Qatar.
Quadri reached the quarter-finals of the male singles event at the Rio de Janeiro Games, the first time an African would achieve such feat.
And Bello stated that the impact Quadri made at the Games earned him a place on the shortlist.
“We received the news with great joy and we are happy that Quadri is nominated for the award for the second time.
“Personally, I think he deserves the nomination because of his performance in Rio and not forgetting that he is the highest-ranked African player,’’ he said.
