President Muhammadu Buhari last night interacted directly with Nigerians and thanked them for their prayers and kind wishes on his health.

He said this in a tweet from his personal handle, @MBuhari, after receiving Senate President Bukola Saraki, the Speaker of the House, Yakubu Dogara and Senator Ahmad Lawan, the Senate Leader at the Abuja House in London.

The tweet also has attached to it a picture of the President and the visiting lawmakers.

He said: “I thank them for visiting. I’m also grateful to Nigerians, Christians and Muslims alike, for their prayers and kind wishes on my health.”

President Buhari is currently on an extended leave in the UK since leaving for the UK for what was supposed to be a 10-day leave. He, however, gave notice to the National Assembly and handed over power properly to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
