President Buhari Condemns Missile Attack On Makkah


President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday expressed Nigeria’s solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This came in the aftermath of the ballistic missile launched by Houthi militias. The missile was targeted at the holy city of Makkah.
Buhari made his feelings known when he spoke with King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia on telephone. The President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina, confirmed this in a statement.
Buhari condemned the heinous act which targeted innocent people at Makkah
The president said that it is reprehensible and also ignoble for terrorists to target a holy land, where millions of Muslims from around the globe gather for pilgrimage.
The president expressed delight and appreciation to Almighty Allah that the Saudi defence forces intercepted and downed the missile 65 km from the holy city of Makkah.
Buhari reiterated the need to strengthen international support as well as coalition in the fight against terrorism and violent extremism.
The president stated that when the world stand together there is no way good will not prevail over evil.
