Police Thwart Kidnapping Attempt, Seize Weapons, Charms in Adamawa

In a recent operation, the vigilant operatives of the Adamawa State Police Command, stationed at the Yolde Pate Divisional Police Headquarters in Yola, intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number GME 235 AE, with three occupants on board, along the Yola-Yadim Road during a Confidence Building Patrol.
The driver of the vehicle, upon spotting a security checkpoint, attempted to evade the law enforcement officers by driving recklessly. However, law enforcement officers pursued the vehicle and successfully cornered it, preventing the occupants from making their escape. The individuals inside the vehicle immediately abandoned it and fled the scene in an attempt to avoid arrest.
Upon conducting a thorough search of the abandoned vehicle, the police discovered two daggers, a chain, a padlock, and an assortment of charms believed to be intended for use in criminal activities, particularly kidnapping.
Adamawa State’s Commissioner of Police, CP Afolabi Babatola, emphasized that individuals with criminal intent would not evade capture and would not be granted the opportunity to carry out their nefarious activities within the state. He called on members of the public to provide timely information to the police, especially regarding individuals on the run, to aid in maintaining security and preventing criminal acts in the state.
