Police Arrest Two Suspects, Recover Illicit Drugs in Delta

Operatives from the CP Monitoring unit of the Delta State Police Command, acting on credible information received on an outlet for distribution of Illicit Hard Drugs in Asaba, swung into action and arrested two suspects.

The command, in a statement, identified the suspects as Emeka Ozumu ‘m’ aged 49yrs, and Patrick Otukam ‘m’ 30yrs.

Items recovered from the suspects included 13 bottles of Codeine, and 23 Sachets of Tramadol and other hard drugs.

“Investigation is ongoing,” said SP Bright Edafe, the Spokesman for the command.

He added, “The Commissioner of Police Delta State CP Olufemi Abaniwonda urges youths to shun all form of crime and also stay away from substance/drug abuse as it is dangerous to their health and also capable of pushing them to commit various crimes.

“The CP noted that operatives of Crack squad, CP monitoring, and raiders squad has been deployed to crack down on a drug peddling hideouts in the state and anyone found wanting will be arrested and charged to court.”
