Plateau United Unveil Kennedy Boboye As New Manager

Kennedy Boboye is the new manager of Nigeria Professional Football League side Plateau United.
The Jos-based side have penned a two-year deal with the former Junior international following the exit of Zakari Baraje.
Boboye was among the coaches appointed by the Nigeria Football Federation to head the Super Eagles on caretaker basis after Sunday Oliseh resigned in February.
Government support to continue
Plateau State Commissioner for Sports Danladi Mann said the state government would continue to support the club.
Mann said, “We had our teething problems last season when United gained promotion to the Premier League but we overcame and we finished eighth in the league.
United seek laurels next season
“We hope to surpass that next season by winning laurels domestically and clinching a continental ticket.”
Similarly, Chairman of Plateau Football Association Sunday Longbap said it was great to have someone like Boboye in at United.
“With all humility, we did our job. We are proud to unveil one of the best coaches Nigeria has to showcase.”
He expresses happiness
Boboye, a former Sharks FC attacker, said he was happy for the opportunity to manage Plateau United.
“I have coached Sunshine Stars, who are a solid team in the South-West. I have managed Abia Warriors, who are now a big side in the South-East. Now I am at the biggest club in Northern Nigeria.
“I have to work; have to prepare a team. I have to adapt to this club.
”It will not be easy. But I will do my best. When you see my career, you can see I have what it takes to excel.”
