Plateau: Soldiers, Gunmen Clash in Mangu

Soldiers and gunmen clashed in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State, resulting in multiple casualties, after Governor Caleb Mutfwang relaxed the 24-hour curfew imposed on the area.

The clash occurred shortly after the governor announced a revised curfew timing, allowing movement from 8 am to 4 pm. Sources indicate that the violence erupted in Satguru and Tyop villages, leaving many dead and injured.

According to reports obtained by Daily Trust, around 30 gunmen were killed during the confrontation, with several soldiers sustaining injuries. The skirmish erupted between 7 to 7:30 am as armed assailants launched attacks on communities along Gindri road. Prompt response from military forces led to the neutralization of the attackers.
