President Bola Tinubu has attended the 63rd Independence Day ceremony of the Republic of Benin.
He was accompanied by six governors from Nigeria whose states share border with Benin.
One of the governors, Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State, shares photos from the event which he captioned:
“We accompanied His Excellency, President @officialABAT – GCFR to grace the 63rd independence anniversary of the Republic of Benin as a Special Guest of
@PresidenceBenin, H.E Patrice Talon.
“Our dear State shares International boundaries with Benin Republic and as such enjoys a significant trade relationship with the country.”
It is expected that Tinubu will use the opportunity to discuss the situation which has seen the Benin-Nigeria border shut to the movement of some food commodities.
Also, the incidence of the fuel subsidy removal by Nigeria which reports say is biting hard on Benin will be on the table.
