PDP Ends Campaign in Bayelsa, Imo, Kogi Gov Poll

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced the end of all campaign activities ahead of the Saturday, November 11, 2023, governorship election in Bayelsa, Imo and Kogi states.

This is in line with the provisions of the Electoral Act 2022.

The National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, disclosed this 8n a statement on Thursday.

The statement read in part, “Consequently, the PDP directs all our campaign units, support groups and supporters of our candidates in the three States to end all forms of campaign activities accordingly.

“The public, particularly the media should take note that our Party and candidates will not be liable for any campaign activity and/or material that appear on any platform after the stipulated time.

“Our Party sincerely appreciates the people’s overwhelming support and unrelenting solidarity for our Party and candidates; Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State, Senator Samuel Anyanwu of Imo State and Senator Dino Melaye of Kogi State throughout the campaign period.

“The PDP therefore directs all its members, teeming supporters and indeed all well-meaning citizens and residents of the three States to come out enmasse to vote for our candidates and resist any attempt by anybody to subvert their Will at the election.

“The PDP urges the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies to take every necessary step to ensure peaceful, free, fair, transparent and credible election such that only the Will of the people prevails at the end of the day.”
