AWCON: Oparanozie, Oshoala Make CAF All-Star Team

Five players of the victorious Super Falcons made the CAF All-Star team at the Cameroon 2016 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations.
Nigeria clinched their eighth AWCON title and 10th overall after edging hard-fighting Lionesses of Cameroon 1-0 in front of a packed Ahmadu Ahidjo Stadium in Yaounde on Saturday.
Oparanozie’s late strike downs Lionesses
A late Desire Oparanozie’s strike, five minutes from time, ensured Nigeria’s triumph in the Lionesses’ den.
And the France-based striker Oparanozie, who was also the match winner in the semi-final against South Africa, earned her place on the CAF shortlist.
Also on the team is Arsenal ladies forward and tournament top scorer, Asisat Oshoala.
Others are defender Osinachi Ohale, goalkeeper Alaba Jonathan and Francisca Ordega.
Five for Cameroon
Hosts Cameroon also have five players in the CAF squad with tournament’s Most Valuable Player Gabrielle Aboudi Onguene topping the list.
