The watch at the 11th Edition of the most prestigious Nigerian award “Headies” 2016, was on the YBNL’s boss Olamide who missed his award for Best Street Act with his popular hit ‘who you epp’.
Prior to the twist the last Headies took on Olamide and Donjazzy, both YBNL and Mavins Crew bosses respectively, some speculated that they didn’t attend the show because they are perhaps tired of the Headies.
A drift into what moves Nigerian artistes, should be an eye opener to those who speculated what was aforementioned.
The Business of Music
Nigerian artistes are just like every other business men and their job is not a joke as it’s simplicity makes it look in the media. If businessmen can identify work before leisure in their scale of priorities, then these business men who are entertainers should be able to do the same.

Olamide’s rivalry with Donjazzy, has long been put aside and these personalities unfortunately, had businesses to tend which clashed with the most prestigious Headies this year. While the YBNL crew had a paid appearance date in an Oshogbo club, the Mavins crew had a concert to perform at Ivory Coast.
Although the event commenced around past 10pm, instead of the the 7pm that was publicized, some artistes were not present to receive their awards, which earned the organizers a lot of disapproving sighs from the audiences. Here’s a first timer’s account of the headies.
The wave at the 11th Edition of the Headies might not take a turn on the toll of the best award organized by them, rather this might be a warning to the Headies organizers to tighten loose nuts and bolts for The Headies to continue to maintain its status as Nigeria’s Grammys.
