Ogun State Governor Inaugurates New Chairmen

Ogun State Governor. Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun has sworn in the newly elected LGA and LCDAs chairmen.

The ceremony held at the June 12 Cultural Centre in Abeokuta.

The elections were conducted in the 20 local governments and 36 local council development areas of the state last weekend.

Amosun urged the chairmen to replicate the programmes of the state government at their respective areas. He promised to fund local administration.

He said his administration had done creditably well at the grassroots based on available resources. However, he admitted that there is still room for improvement.

Also, he added that Ministry of Rural Areas and Development, under the supervision of the Deputy Governor will liaise with the chairmen for effectiveness.

The governor said that the council areas would be assisted to develop in their respective areas of comparative advantage in terms of natural endowment.

 

In response, Chairman of Odogbolu Local Government assured the governor and the people of the state of their readiness to serve the people.
