Obasanjo To Lead Discussions At LAPO Conference

Obasanjo is expected to lead discussions at this year’s 23rd Annual LAPO Development Forum scheduled to hold in Abuja tomorrow
The event tagged “Food Security and Sustainable Agriculture in Nigeria” will also have Honourable Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Chief Audu Ogbeh, as Special Guest of Honour.
Pioneer Vice-Chancellor of Elizade University, Professor Valentine Aletor, will also present a paper on ‘Agriculture, Women Empowerment and Food Security’. Director-General, International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), Dr Nteranya Sanginga, will also speak on ‘Enhancing Youth Employment Through Agricultural Development’.
The objectives of the forum is to increase knowledge on food security and sustainable agriculture in Nigeria. It will also provide farmers and agro-business owners access to funding opportunities, create opportunities for entrepreneurs, development partners, academia, policy makers and other stakeholders to interact on sustainable agriculture in Nigeria as well as provide information on youth employment opportunities.
The Annual LAPO Development Forum was initiated in 1994. It has stimulated discourse and realistic solutions on the development agenda in Nigeria and Africa.
