NYSC Denies Slashing Corpers Allowance
NYSC has dispelled rumours that it slashed corps members’ allowance by 25%. It described the such reports as mischievous and misleading.
NYSC spokesperson, Abosede Aderibigbe said the allowance of corps members remained N19,800 and was not reduced to N14,800.
She said the body vehemently dissociates itself from the reports meant to create confusion in the polity.
She also disclosed that the document released on social media quoted a ‘Brigadier General Bamidele Oluwami’ as the purported Director-General, however the Director-General of the NYSC is Brigadier General Sulaiman Kazaure, who she said never made any comment as claimed by the brains behind the damaging publication.
She reiterated its commitment to the welfare of all corps members stating that their allowance remains N19,800.
The spokesperson also advised Corps members to ignore such misleading information and go about their duties lawfully without fear.
