Nothing Can Stop Swearing In Of Ebonyi Governor-elect – Umahi

Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State declared on Saturday that the All Progressives Congress (APC) governor-elect, Francis Nwifuru, would be inaugurated on May 28, 2023, regardless of any opposition.

Umahi made this firm statement during his address at the burial ceremony of Michael Ekuma Nkama, the father of Joseph Nkama, the Minister of State for Health. The funeral took place in Edda community, located in the Afikpo South Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

The Governor took the opportunity to express his appreciation to President Muhammadu Buhari for the financial aid extended to Ebonyi State. He credited these funds for the successful completion of significant projects in Edda community, the hometown of Minister Joseph Ekuma Nkama.

Umahi also commended President Buhari for approving the nomination of Joseph Ekuma Nkama as the Minister of State for Health, acknowledging the President’s role in the minister’s appointment.

Describing the late father of the Minister as a man of peace and unity, Umahi emphasized the need for stakeholders in the state to eschew divisive politics. He pledged to eradicate such practices before the end of his tenure.

The outgoing Governor urged all leaders in the state to provide unwavering support to the incoming administration led by Governor-elect Francis Nwifuru. He emphasized the importance of maintaining and building upon the existing legacies in the state.

Governor Umahi called for unity among prominent stakeholders and citizens of Ebonyi State, emphasizing that it was crucial for the state’s progress.

In his remarks, Minister Joseph Ekuma Nkama described his late father as a contented man who lived a life free from greed. He attributed the rise in societal vices and youth unrest to a lack of parental guidance and greed.

Nkama expressed his gratitude to President Muhammadu Buhari, Ministers, Governor David Umahi, and other notable leaders who attended his father’s burial.

He said, “there is moral decadence in the society. There are lots of social vices going on and parents should revert to the basis of training their children to have a good moral standard. The good lives we are living today, are as a result of what we learnt from our father.

“Parents shouldn’t be lacking in advising their children to follow good ways of life so that there will be no social vices in the society” he stated.
