NiMet Predicts Dust Haze, Cloudy Skies On Wednesday

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted dust haze weather conditions over the central states of the country on Wednesday (today).
The weather would have horizontal visibility of two to five kilometres.
NiMet made the prediction in the Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office in Abuja.
It added that the region would have day and night temperature of 28 to 36 degrees Celsius and 12 to 18 degrees Celsius respectively.
In Lagos State
The agency predicted mist and fog conditions over Lagos, Port Harcourt, Benin and Warri during the early morning hours. Then day and night temperatures of 33 to 35 degrees Celsius will take over. They will have 22 to 24 degrees Celsius respectively.
It also predicted cloudy to partly cloudy conditions in Port-Harcourt, Calabar, Eket and Yenagoa during the afternoon and evening hours.
According to NiMet, northern states will experience dust haze. The areas are Yelwa, Gusau, Sokoto, Kano, Katsina, Nguru and Maiduguri. Thereafter, there will be horizontal visibility of two to five kilometres throughout the forecast period.
The forecast
“Some places may have visibility less than 1,000m with day and night temperatures of 31 to 37 degrees Celsius and 10 to 18 degrees Celsius respectively during the forecast period.
“Deterioration in horizontal visibilities is still expected over the northern and central parts of the country.
“Partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with chances of thunderstorms are not unlikely over the southern parts of the country in the next 24 hours,” NiMet predicted.
