1. CUPP Releases ‘Leaked’ NJC Resolution On Onnoghen, Mohammed

Suspended Chief Justice Of Nigeria Walter Onnoghen is set to be asked by the National Judicial Council to retire while Tanko Mohammed will be recommended for confirmation as the new CJN, according to the Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP). CUPP on Sunday claimed it had obtained draft resolution of the NJC signed by the Acting Chairman of the Council, Justice Umaru Abdullahi, on the fate of suspended Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) Justice Walter Onnoghen.

2. 2019 Elections: IG Orders Tight Security Around INEC Offices

Mohammed Adamu, the acting Inspector-General of Police, has ordered a comprehensive and water-tight security around all Independent National Electoral Commission offices and facilities nationwide. He consequently ordered Commissioners of Police in the states and the Federal Capital Territory to protect all INEC offices and materials before, during and after the elections.

3. Biafra: Igbo Leader Attacks Nnamdi Kanu For Fixing Referendum On Election Day

The leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has been condemned by the acting National Chairman of the United Patriots, Chukwudi Ezeobika, over his call for a referendum on Biafra on February 16 to coincide with the presidential election. Ezeobika, in a statement on Saturday, said the call was irresponsible, unpatriotic and misplaced.

4. Igbos Will Lose If They Don’t Vote For Buhari, Says APC

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has said the Igbos will lose if they fail to vote for President Muhammadu Buhari in the February 16 presidential election. The South-East Youth Coordinator of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Innocent Ojike, said this on Saturday at a press conference in Awka, the Anambra State capital.

5. FCT Minister Escapes Death As PDP, APC Supporters Clash

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mohammed Bello, escaped death on Saturday as supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) engaged in a violent clash that left many injured and several vehicles burnt. Concise News gathered that the incident occurred at the building materials market in Deidei, a suburb of the FCT.

6. Drunk Security Man Causes Fire Outbreak At Inec Office In Plateau (Photos)

A drunk security man was the cause of a fire that razed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office in Qua’an Pan Local Government Area of Plateau State. INEC Voter Education and Publicity Officer in the state, Osaretim Imaehorobo, confirmed this in a statement on Sunday.

7. Kwara APC Governorship Candidate In Certificate Scandal

Kwara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ilorin on Saturday has been thrown into a state of confusion over alleged forged certificate presented by its governorship candidate Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq. It was said that an online medium “news accelerator”  reported that the governorship candidate of the party, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, allegedly presented a forged WAEC certificate to the Independent National Electoral Commission for the March 2 governorship election.

8. 2019 Election: What Atiku Discussed With Emir Sanusi In Kano

The Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II, on Sunday advised Nigerians ‎to eschew negative acts ensure peaceful voting in the forthcoming general elections. ‎NAN reports that Emir Sanusi gave the advice when the People Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, paid him a courtesy visit at his palace in Kano on Sunday.

9. 2019 Elections: I’ll Not Take Your Support For Granted, Buhari Begs Nigerians

President Muhammadu Buhari has told Nigerians that he would not take their support for granted when re-elected for another four years on February 16. The president, in a video message to Nigerians, noted that his administration had made great progress in the last three and a half years due to people’s support.

10. Premier League Table After Man City’s Humbling Of Chelsea

Chelsea lost scandalously to Manchester City 6-0 at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday and descended down to 6th on the Premier League table as their conquerors returned to the summit. Sunday’s result put a dent in Chelsea’s hope of finishing in the top four asManchester United now occupy the 4th place which the Londoners were occupying just a few days ago.
