Nigerian Artistes Rule AFRIMA

AFRIMAIt was yet another big night for Nigerian artistes as they dominated the third edition of the Africa Music Awards, AFRIMA 2016.

The awards came to an end on Sunday in Lagos as Nigerian artistes took the center stage.

Singer, Flavor was the biggest winner of the night with two awards. One as the Best Male Artist and the other as Best African Contemporary artist.

Other AFRIMA Winners

Patoranking took home the award for the Best African Reggae act. Falz won the award for Revelation of the Year while Phyno won the Fan’s Favourite award. Aramide also got the award for the Best Female Artist in West Africa.

Renowned and veteran musician, King Sunny Ade was presented with a special recognition for his role in Nigerian and African music.

Nigeria’s Ninola and Eddy Kenzo of Uganda, won the Best African Collaboration of the Year “Mbilo mbilo”.

The duo gave a scintillating performance for the song to an excited crowd. There were also performances by Psquare, Phyno, Patoranking, Seyi Shay, Falz and other African artists.

The events was graced by the host Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, his wife Bolanle, his Deputy, Dr. Idiat Adebule. The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, as well as other musical giants were also in attendance.

The Governor had earlier stressed that Lagos will continue to show its potentials as the entertainment capital of Africa.
