Nigerian Army Thwarts Terrorist Transit in Kaduna Ambush

Troops from the Nigerian Army engaged in counter-terrorism operations in Kaduna State successfully intercepted terrorists transporting arms in the Birnin Gwari axis, responding to actionable intelligence on Wednesday, May 15, 2024.

In a strategic operation, the troops laid an ambush near Kwaga Village, targeting the terrorists notorious for instigating violence in the Birnin Gwari Local Government Area. Their swift action resulted in the neutralization of one terrorist, prompting the others to scatter in disarray.

The timely intervention not only averted a potential assault on civilians in the region but also yielded significant recoveries. Among the confiscated items were 2 AK 47 Rifles with magazines and 2 motorbikes, underscoring the gravity of the threat posed by the intercepted group.

Efforts are currently underway as troops pursue the fleeing terrorists, ensuring that they are brought to justice and preventing any further destabilization in the area.
