Nigerian Army Promise To End Terrorism

The Nigerian Army is not resting in its quest to end terrorism in Nigeria. The Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen Tukur Buratai reiterated this resolve today when he declared open a training week.

The training is for the Nigerian Army Finance Corps, Warrant Officers and Senior Non-Commissioned Officers. It is holding at the headquarters of the 3 Division, Maxwell Khobe Cantonment in Jos, Plateau State.

The Army chief said the Nigerian military is doing all within its fold to rid the nation of terrorists and enthrone peace not only in the North East, but, across the country.

Buratai who was represented by the Commander of Operation Safe Haven, Major General Rogers Nicholas, assured troops battling insurgents in the North East and others engaged in internal security operations in various parts of the country of prompt payment of their allowances to sustain high morale.

Nigerian Army Allowances To Be Paid Soon

Earlier in his remarks, Acting Chief of Accounts and Budget (Army), Brigadier General Jahadi Jakko, described the theme of the training, “Towards Achieving Prudent Utilization of Financial Resources for a Professional Responsive Nigerian Army: The Role of NAFC, WOs/SNCOs”, as apt, considering the prevailing economic realities in the country.

He said that the training was designed to enhance capacity development and update personnel. This is due to the recent Federal Government application on public sector financial policies and reforms, regimentation, as well as security of office documents. He pleaded with troops to exercise patience on the payment of their last month’s allowances. He assured it would be given priority.
