Unknown gunmen have killed a student of the Kogi State University, KSU, on Saturday, February 23, during the presidential and National Assembly elections in the state.
The victim identified as Daniel Usman was shot dead by unknown gunmen while trying to vote in Ajetachi polling unit, Anyigba, Kogi State.
The incident was said to have occurred after political thugs disrupted the election process.
The 19-year-old student was reportedly hit by a stray bullet during a shootout between soldiers and the political thugs.
According to the report, the voting process was affected by the development.
Meanwhile, suspected thugs have shot dead four persons in separate incidents in Andoni Local Government Area of Rivers State on Saturday.
Concise News learned that two leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) were also part of those that were killed.
The spokesperson for the police in Rivers State, Omoni Nnamdi, confirmed the incidents to reporters following information shared by the APC.
“PDP thugs have shot to death an APC chieftain in Asarama, Andoni LGA, Chief Mowan Etete,” disclosed Senibo Finebone, APC’s spokesperson for Rivers State. “Etete was a former council chairman.”
